Nomia welcomes practical offers of machinery, equipment, materials, technical services, loans, discounts and in-kind capability that can reduce establishment cost and strengthen field execution.
Equipment is accepted because it is useful to the research program, not because it is available.
What the program may require
Habitat processing
Mixer/pugmill, screening and blending capability, loaders, excavators and attachments.
Agricultural field equipment
Tractor, telehandler where justified, seeding and material-handling equipment.
Transport
Heavy tipper trailers, road tippers, prime mover and suitable low-loader/drop-deck capability where justified.
Water
Bore, pump, storage, tower, pipework, irrigation and control systems.
Energy & facilities
Solar, batteries, generator, workshop capability and protected research infrastructure.
Monitoring & safety
Cameras, sensors, weather stations, data logging, PPE, signage and field-operation supplies.
Protected research environment
Reference image only. Final facilities remain subject to approvals, design and procurement.
Water & irrigation capability
Support controlled habitat and forage treatments where required by experimental design.
Field deployment capability
Processing, handling and transport should be matched to actual utilisation.
Nomia will test the procurement model as well as the equipment need.
Machinery ownership can make sense where utilisation is high and reliable access is operationally important. It can also strand capital where use is intermittent.
Material decisions should compare purchase price, finance or opportunity cost, utilisation, maintenance, operator requirements, transport, insurance, resale value and hire/contract alternatives.
New, used, loaned, discounted or provided as a service
Used equipment can be valuable if it is safe, serviceable and suited to the task. Offers should be reviewed before acceptance so the charity does not inherit unnecessary cost or risk.

Subject to approvals and scientific justification, equipment may support establishment and maintenance of the proposed 32-site field network.
Tax treatment
Nomia is not currently DGR endorsed. Do not assume that a cash or in-kind contribution is tax deductible. Contributors should obtain their own tax advice where relevant.
Practical support can convert funding into research capability.
Equipment, services and materials can reduce establishment cost, but every offer should be accepted only where it creates genuine program value.
