Nomia is seeking a diversified funding coalition capable of establishing the scientific, physical and field capability required to test native pollinator habitat restoration properly.
The objective is not to consume a budget. The objective is to determine what is true.
A substantial, staged establishment and evidence-generation program
Year 1 is intended to establish the scientific, physical and operational capability required to test Nomia's core hypotheses properly. Detailed internal planning budgets are progressively refined as scientific design, engineering, quotations, procurement and approvals mature.
Research infrastructure
Protected environment, water systems, operations/research/data capability and off-grid services.
Habitat & field capability
Engineered habitat, native forage, processing, earthmoving, transport and external-site establishment.
Science & people
Monitoring, independent science, statistics, laboratory work, staffing, biosecurity and stakeholder mobilisation.
Budget discipline
Planning estimates are not fixed tender prices or spending entitlements. Final expenditure will be determined by confirmed scientific requirements, engineering, approvals, quotations, procurement decisions, available funding and Board oversight.
Current detailed budget information can be provided to prospective funders and institutional partners as part of appropriate due diligence.
No single grower should be expected to finance national evidence.
Government is already investing substantially in Varroa management and research. Nomia's proposed work is complementary: build and test a biologically different native-pollinator pathway with transparent decision gates.
A credible national program will require philanthropy, government/research funding, corporate participation, equipment and in-kind support, agricultural stakeholders and individual donors.
A strong anchor partner can unlock more than its own grant.
Early institutional validation can reduce perceived execution risk for others.
A catalytic anchor partner can help attract additional philanthropy, corporate support, agricultural participation, government co-funding, public donations and in-kind capability.
That is particularly important for a national ambition in a geographically large country.
Financial close before major drawdown
Where delivery depends on co-funding, approvals, infrastructure, scientific design, procurement or other prerequisites, Nomia should prefer conditional commitments and staged drawdown rather than accepting isolated funds that cannot deliver the complete outcome.
Every contribution can help build the evidence.
The scale of the Year-1 program does not make smaller donations irrelevant. Individual support can contribute to practical program needs while also demonstrating public support for native-pollinator research and habitat restoration.
A donation does not guarantee a biological or agricultural outcome. It supports the process of finding out what works.
Tax-deductibility notice
Nomia Bee Australia Foundation Limited is an ACNC-registered Australian charity.
Nomia is not currently endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR).
Donations are therefore not currently tax deductible. Nomia will not represent donations as tax deductible unless and until appropriate DGR endorsement is obtained.

Government Evidence: The Damage Is Already Being Felt
The consequences of Varroa destructor in Australia are no longer merely projections. Australian government agencies are documenting impacts on beekeepers, hive numbers, pollination services and the effectiveness of available Varroa treatments.

Individual reports of hive loss, treatment resistance, increased pollination cost or crop impact should not automatically be treated as national averages. Nomia distinguishes documented current impacts from credible future risks and relies wherever possible on primary government and scientific evidence.
